What’s the worst travel experience you’ve ever had?

It was the summer of 2007. I was about to start Pharmacy school in the fall so my best friends and I planned a trip to NYC to visit another friend who had finished law school. As a college student I wanted to save some money, so I talked to my cousin who was a flight attendant at the time and decided to travel stand-by. I took a flight to Chicago to meet up with a friend and I ended up stuck there for two nights because all the flights were full. I ended up calling someone from home so they could buy me a ticket to NYC because I was exhausted and scared. I honestly don’t know how I survived those two days without a smartphone and traveling practically solo for the first time.
